I thought this “old” slogan from former Governor Tom Kean and his administration fit our upcoming event, well, perfectly!

For those of you who live locally, or will be traveling to NJ for the Thanksgiving holiday, please join us on Saturday, November 30 for a fun night of great music, great food and a great cause! Tickets are only $40 and include music played by students and professionals, as well as a delicious buffet dinner catered by Bardi’s Bar and Grill. Bring your friends! Bring your family!

We are very grateful to Randy and Laura Shamber at ShamRock for their dedication to pull this event together, and my good friend Vince Genella and the other bands who are donating their time to play for us. The music is going to be OUTSTANDING! You don’t want to miss it!

Event details: Saturday, November 30, 6-10 pm at the Elks Lodge, 1 Perrin Avenue, Pompton Lakes, NJ.

Buy your tickets in advance, please! Call Push to Walk at 862-200-5848 or ShamRock at 973-839-0100.

Hope to see you there!

Last night, Sunday March 25, my husband & I went to Bardi’s (www.bardisgrill.com) in Pequannock, NJ for an Open Mic night with Vince Genella and The Business (www.vincegenella.net). It was an awesome night of music, jammin’ and listening to some really talented musicians. We sat close and could see just how much these musicians love to play! From an amazing 9 year old drummer to a young male trio, a female duo, and other people as well, the quality, energy and talent were wonderful! (In addition to Vince and his band, too!)

It is obvious that ShamRock (www.shamrockschoolofmusic.com) has found its niche in providing quality instructors for local kids. Their musical talents are really something to see and hear! Congratulations to Randy Shamber and his team for all of their accomplishments!

To go along with ShamRock’s interest in their community, they have offered to sponsor Push to Walk’s upcoming Wine Tasting on June 14. We are very grateful for their support, and look forward to their involvement in promoting our event! As Randy says, “if it involves music, please include us!” Please be on the lookout for the details, and you can register online at www.pushtowalknj.org. All proceeds will be used to help people with spinal cord injuries live a higher quality of life by regaining strength, function and independence through an intensive exercise program. Make plans with friends to join us for an evening of Wine Tasting, hosted by Gary’s Wine & Markeplace (www.garyswine.com) and great live music! Hope to see you there!

For those of you who know me, you already know I can go on and on about Push to Walk and all the good our program does for people with spinal cord injuries. After awhile it probably sounds like “blah, blah, blah!” As any good spokesman for a cause they believe in, we can tell great stories, explain what our trainers do, and what our clients accomplish. BUT, when someone sees our gym, talks to the clients and experiences a workout for him or herself, NOW believing happens! This is what it’s all about!

This was the case when I recently had the pleasure of showing our gym to Lou Pallo. Yes, the famous Lou Pallo of the Les Paul Trio. Legendary in his own right, Lou and Les played together many years and for many shows. (www.loupallo.com) Thanks to our friend Vince Genella, another VERY talented guitarist (www.vincegenella.net) who introduced us to Lou, Lou and his current trio have agreed to donate their talents for entertainment at Push to Walk’s upcoming Wine Tasting on June 14th at the Grand Chalet in Wayne, NJ. We are very grateful to both Lou and Vince for taking an interest in Push to Walk and helping us raise money so we can continue to provide specialized exercise workouts to people with spinal cord injuries.

But back to my main topic – seeing someone or something in action, with your very own eyes, is SO powerful! It makes all the difference in the world! You can then understand, or ask questions, give feedback, etc. There is no substitute for seeing and feeling something for yourself. So come and SEE Push to Walk for yourself! We love to have visitors and show off our gym, our trainers, even our clients! Once you see it, you’ll understand why we are so passionate about what we do!
