Wow, it’s been a REALLY long time………sorry I’ve been “absent” for so long!

Training for a marathon keeps me focused and disciplined in so many ways, and now I’ve been floundering along for the past 6 weeks since the big event. OK, I MUST get back on track! Since it won’t be long distance running, what am I gonna do???  I’ve got to find a new passion, a new goal, a new focus. Well, until then, at least I can keep up with writing my blog! Now that I’ve said it, I have to do it!

I think my upcoming posts will touch on subjects related to Spinal Cord Injuries and how they relate to different topics, like nutrition, exercise, sports, driving, transportation, etc. Possibly focus on specific modalities we use at Push to Walk, like the FES bike, the Power Plate, standing frames, etc. But also general information that would be useful to many people out there with SCI as well. Perhaps I’ll tie factual information to a personal story, or let you know how something has helped us or another client. In any case, I’ll try to keep the posts upbeat, positive and interesting!

I am sorry to say that our planned event – the Amazing Race for Push to Walk – has been canceled, but we are 100% focused now on our upcoming 4th Annual Golf Outing to be held on Monday, September 26 at Wild Turkey. The exact date happens to be our 30th Wedding Anniversary, and we are trying to think of fun, clever ways to tie both events together. If you have any ideas, please let me know! And please save the date to join us!

OK, enough for my sloth-like behavior. Onto new and challenging things! I did play kickball this past weekend and had a blast! Check out the pictures and videos on our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/PushToWalkNJ. If we hosted our own kickball tournament, would you be interested? It was a whole lotta fun!!!

Until next time, Cynthia
